NOTE: (2010-11-24) - Kingdom Teachinghas a great deal to do with love(aGApe), though it is not a strong issue in this mailing. However, this week I was awake very early, and the Holy Spirit was reminding me of one of Smith Wigglesworth's secrets. He thought he had a forgiving heart towards a brother who had offended him; but when he unexpectedly saw him on the street, he realized his heart was not rightwith this brother. He rushed down an alley and prayed, “Quick Lord, give me a heavenly love transfusion. Let the Holy Spirit shed loveabroad in my heart.” (Romans 5:5). It worked!
Thisis the Kingdom of God at work! C.T. Studd, missionary in Africa at the end, saw 5 proofs of the New Birth in the first epistle of John. “Who says he is in the light and hates his :brother, is in the darknessevenuntil now” (1 John 2:9). 1 John 2:29 says that a proof of the new birth is doing righteousness! See Galatians 5:19-21. Here Paul lists 15 works of the flesh. He ends up by saying, “of which I forewarn you, as also I did forewarn, that theywho practicesuch thingsshall notinherit God's kingdom.” There are 14 such lists in the NT, and they clearly spell out sex sins such as fornication (sex apart from marriage in all situations); adultery (marriage sex sins); homosexuality; beastiality; lesbianism, etc. Be notdeceived; God is notmocked; whoever is deceived in these areas is not wise, and in the end, God willjudge all such.
1 John 3:9, “Every one born of Goddoes no sin, because his seed abides in him.”Jesusis the seed of God.As we feed on His Word pray over it, meditate upon it - then Christ withinus grows and matures, fulfills this verse through us, and enables us victoriously to live abovethe works of the flesh. Holy Living isa mark of a Kingdom child! People like George Muller, George Whitefield, Rees Howells and Oswald Chambers provedthe reality of these promises. This is notsinless perfection. It is the Sinless Oneliving His resurrection life out through us in the power of the Holy Spirit. And in us dwells no good thing.
1 John 4:2 “Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the fleshis of God.” If the spirit within us cannot make that confession - be assured, we are notborn again from above. Many New Age type cults are unable to make this confession.
1 John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another: for :love is of God; and every one that loves is begotten of :God, and knows :God. 8who loves not knows not :God; for God is love!” Every husband and wife needs to release the love of the Kingdomtowards his spouse! What a difference thiswould make for the children, and in allchurch meetings. It is a covenantpriority. Ineed this. Youneed this. We allneed this.
1 John 5:1 - “Every one that believes that Jesusis the Christis begotten of :God: andevery one that loves the Begetter loves the onebegotten of him.”No exceptions! Jesus in us by His Spirit makes this possible. Thisis a Kingdom principle.
1 John 5:4 “because whatever is begotten of :God overcomesthe world.” Thisis the secret of overcoming that Jesus gives to the 7 churches in Revelation 2 and 3.
1 John 5:18 “but who was begotten of :God sins not; but who was begotten of :God keeps himself, and the evil one touches him not.”
C.T. Studd called the above - the 5 spiritual stones that David took out of a brook, and used but one to kill Goliath.
We need to remember - a true believer is discipled, and keeps Jesus' commandments! (Matthew 28:18-20). He who truly loves Jesus, keepsHis commandments! Read the letter of 1 John, and its 5 chapters! Let us pray over them on our knees; and m ake notes on them. Journal them. This will speedus up on the Way! J.A.W.
